PROPOSED EVENT 09 · GLASS FESTIVAL

DUNK A PANTHER LEGEND.

Get the community’s best-known volunteers in the tank, but only if the safety and cost plan earns a green light.

THE GLASS FESTIVAL / A BOOTH PEOPLE WILL FIND

Dunk a Panther Legend.

Invite well-known and willing Elwood adults—teachers, principals, coaches, firefighters, police officers, retired staff, alumni—to volunteer for short 10–15 minute sessions. Visitors contribute to take their best shot. A business could sponsor each guest's shift or pay for the insured tank. The festival organizer must approve both space and activity.

Proposed pricing: $5 for three throws · Optional additional direct gifts via authorized QR code · Never advertise names before they opt in.
01

Ask the Elwood Chamber

Confirm 2027 booth application, special-activity rules, tank permission, water, drainage, dimensions and fee relief. Official 2027 date/rate still needs verification.

02

Get an insured vendor quote

Require vendor-managed installation and operations, certificate of insurance, participant restrictions, trained attendant, and risk sign-off. Never use a homemade tank.

03

Book the community guests

Invite willing adults; record consent, employer permission if relevant, timed shifts, waiver and backup guest.

04

Pre-sell business support

Ask one local sponsor to cover approved equipment and another to cover booth, signage or water. If not covered, run the safer sponge-toss booth instead.

05

Launch the festival booth

Post a schedule of confirmed guests; recruit class-year ambassadors; share the alumni leaderboard QR; staff safety, line and approved payments.

06

Close and reconcile

Record actual transactions, sponsor payments, approved expenses, vendor invoice, incident notes, net proceeds and follow-up thank-you posts.

DUNK TANK SAFETY & GO / NO-GO

Fun only if approved.

□ Written festival permission and accepted site layout

□ Vendor-operated tank, valid insurance and appropriate coverage

□ Water source, disposal, drainage and safe loading area

□ Adults who consent, meet vendor restrictions and sign waivers

□ Queue barriers, non-slip access and weather stop policy

□ Approved payment recipient and trained financial handling

Lower-risk backup: Soak a Panther Legend sponge-toss game, using a seated adult guest, nonhazardous sponges and a separate throwing line. The activity still needs organizer and insurer approval.

PITCH TO PARTNERS

Specific asks for Elwood.

Elwood Chamber

“Could a volunteer-run education fundraiser be considered for an activity booth, and what would a dunk tank require?”

Local employers

“Would you sponsor the insured equipment or adopt a 15-minute guest shift for $250–$500?”

Harvest / Needler’s

“Could you supply water and ice for our volunteer-operated fundraising booth?”

First responders / educators

“Would you personally volunteer for a timed shift, with your employer's permission if needed?”

Print shop / creatives

“Could you donate the legend schedule board, safety signage or a banner?”

Alumni captains

“Can you invite out-of-town graduates back and share the Class Pride challenge at the booth?”

All businesses and guests are outreach ideas, not confirmed partners. Sponsorship acknowledgements must follow district/foundation policy.
